Lecture at the I Foro Andaluz de Arte y Ruralidad “campo a través / INTO THE WILD”

We are flying to Malaga on Friday to participate in the program of the I Foro Andaluz de Arte y Ruralidad, “campo a través / INTO THE WILD.” The event will take place at the Malaga Museum from November 28 to 29, and admission is free until capacity is reached.

Being able to talk about what I do in the north in my own land moves me. It’s not just about presenting a life project—Mutur Beltz and everything that comes with it—but also about returning to Malaga, taking advantage of a fleeting visit to my Marbella and walking around it as if I were walking through a landscape already covered in layers, trying to hear what lies beneath. Sometimes I feel that talking about what we do up there is a way of stirring up that layer of soil, the one that was buried by hasty progress, by tourism that polishes everything, by the speed with which villages and childhoods are erased. Perhaps that’s all it is: an attempt to listen again to what still resists beneath the asphalt.
