Origin and inspiration
The Itxasoederra hat was born as a play on words and affection: in Basque, itsaso ederra means “beautiful sea,” an echo that also takes us to Marbella, the coastal town where Laurita grew up and where Mutur Beltz keeps half his heart.
Perhaps the arrival in Karrantza was also a search for that nature that was paved over in the south, a symbolic return to what remains alive and wild.
A design that unites shore and mountain, Mediterranean memory and Atlantic present, where Mutur Beltz turns each piece into a bridge between territories, affections, and cultures.
Raw materials and tradition
Made from raw wool from Carranzana sheep, a native breed in danger of extinction in the Karrantza Valley (Bizkaia), the Itxasoederra hat reinterprets the classic sailor hat—worn by dockworkers, fishermen, and characters like Popeye—in a contemporary and sustainable way.
A timeless accessory that connects sea and land, evoking the landscapes of origin and shared memory.

Commitment and sustainability
More than just a hat, Itxasoederra is sea, memory, and roots.
Each piece contributes to the preservation of the Carranzana sheep of Bizkaia, promotes sustainable grazing, and supports the revaluation of Basque wool as a raw material of the future.
Care and maintenance
To preserve its shape and quality, we recommend cleaning the hat with a soft cloth dampened with water and a little soap or with baby wipes.
