Origin and inspiration
The Basabeltz cap was born as a play on words and roots: in Basque, basa means “wild” and beltz means “black,” a name also given to the blackbird that inhabits Basque farmhouses and mountains. At the same time, its sound evokes the classic baseball cap, becoming a bridge between the local and the global.
A design that combines Basque identity, nature, and contemporary culture, where Mutur Beltz turns each piece into a shared memory.
Raw materials and tradition
Made from raw wool from Carranzana sheep, a native breed in danger of extinction in the Karrantza Valley (Bizkaia), the Basabeltz cap reinterprets the urban icon of baseball in a rural and sustainable way. A versatile accessory that connects fashion, territory, and identity.
Main features
Handcrafted Basque wool cap, made in Portugal with high-quality finishes.
Structured visor with internal reinforcement, providing lightness, breathability, and resistance.
Adjustable rear fit with metal buckle. Pre-curved visor.
Hypoallergenic cotton inner lining, soft and comfortable for everyday use.
Commitment and sustainability
More than just a cap, Basabeltz is a word, a territory, and a design with roots.
Each piece contributes to the preservation of the Carranzana sheep of Bizkaia, promotes sustainable grazing, and supports the revaluation of Basque wool as a raw material of the future.
Care and maintenance
We recommend washing the cap by hand with cold water and special soap for delicate fabrics (e.g., Woolite).
Air dry, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight to preserve its shape and quality.
